UAP in West Asheville over Patton Ave.
So, this happened maybe a month or two ago, possibly three. I really thought it was strange at the time, but for some reason didn't think to post about it, until my friend told me about an experience her friend had with a similar object that resulted in missing time. I didn't have missing time - no more than usual anyway. I had just kept thinking that there is probably some stupid and common explanation for the object I saw, but the more I've thought about it, the more stymied I become.
I was headed into work. 11:30 AM - I had just turned onto Baker Ave. from Haywood Rd., when I noticed an object - perfectly spherical and white in color, moving west. It wasn't moving very fast, and looked to be maybe only a couple hundred feet in the air, but you know how that goes. It was going behind a group of trees. I sped up to try to get in a parking lot to get a better view. By the time I got there, it was out of sight. I witnessed it for maybe 10 seconds. From my position, I would guess that the object was very close to, or actually over Patton Ave., maybe even above the road traveling down it.
I would guess that at the point I witnessed it, it would be very close to Arby's and the Gorilla Car Wash on Patton, moving west at perhaps 20 to 30 MPH.
I thought about it perhaps being a balloon, being blown by the wind sideways - it wasn't ascending in the least. But it lacked the definition a balloon would have. It was almost cloud-like or something. It's hard to describe. I guess you could think of it as seeing a picture of an orb (yeah I know - triangulation of dust 'n stuff) and a picture of a white rubber ball. The orb lacks the solid appearance, the detail that the rubber ball has. I hope that makes sense.
I would love to know if anyone else in Asheville saw this. I wish I would have posted this sooner, and I could have remembered exactly the date this took place. I've thought about it every day I drive down that road, or look up in my work's parking lot.
Here are my depictions I threw together with paint.net. They at least give you an idea. Whereas the pics have clouds in them, the day that I witnessed this, there were no clouds in the sky. Also, my recreations look too solid, as I was speaking of.
